| Setup | Count (25 gaming long-forms) | Examples | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Boxed webcam, real room | 11 | Flamingo, Karl, Ujjwal, Scalpo, Royalty Gaming, Jelly, Ludwig | 8 at top corners; Ludwig is the only fixed bottom-right box; 18-30% width |
| Green-screen cutout on the bottom edge | 7 | MrBeast Gaming, PrestonPlayz, PrestonGamez, Jynxzi, CarryisLive | 5 bottom-left, PrestonGamez bottom-right, MrBeast both; chest-up, 25-35% width |
| No cam | 6 | theRadBrad, TGG, Dream, Simply Chris | Simply Chris shows a round avatar icon in a speech bar |
| Full-screen talking head only | 1 | penguinz0 | One static webcam shot for 11 minutes, 4.7M views |
The 32 reused volume long-forms break down as 19 no cam, 9 corner cam, 3 cartoon avatars and 1 full-screen only.
Variants - Duo: Royalty Gaming puts father and son in one box. MrBeast Gaming swaps cutouts as players talk; its prisoner team wears orange jumpsuits matching their in-game role. - Face over evidence: KreekCraft (eWRZhf3Hk3c) talks full screen before a visible green screen, then becomes a bottom-left cutout over the X posts he reads: the template for GTA 6 news. - Resizing: Scalpo switches between corner, center and full screen. Flamingo grows the cam to most of the frame on a scream (0:40). PrestonGamez opens with a half-frame cutout and shrinks it within 10 s. - Borders: 3 of the 11 boxes have one. Jelly uses a thick brand-green rounded border, and JoblessGarrett a thin blue one (Wy43jC-n2HY). In the reused set, Caylus's border changes color (49EPIpZ5XKw) and Foltyn's is blue (RcW3BQwfMNg).
Framing. Shots are mostly eye level and chest-up. - Desk webcams drift high (Ludwig) or low (Jynxzi). - Cutout creators look at the screen, not at the lens (PrestonPlayz). - Jelly's shallow depth of field shows a real camera, not a webcam.
Lighting. Of 14 real-room setups, 7 are dark rooms with colored practicals (LED tube, neon sign, lit shelves): Jelly, Ujjwal, Scalpo, CaseOh, Royalty Gaming, Caylus, Foltyn. 7 are plain or daylit: Flamingo, Kwebbelkop, Ludwig, Karl, TypicalGamer, penguinz0, JoblessGarrett (bright set, backlit name sign). Cutouts are lit bright and flat for a clean key.
Gear. Of the 19 creators on camera, 14 wear headsets and 4 wear earbuds. A broadcast mic is in shot in 8 videos.

Medians mix three sample sets (2 of the 4 split Shorts are Roblox/Minecraft or face-cam-creator picks): read them as reach seen, not layout performance.
Formats (views) - Competition skit with a face-icon tracker that ticks or greys out (Law By Mike 206M N3JdQTm0qoM, Topper Guild 85M JBBD5JA2Ykc, durizz 61M G3167yUGVpE). All three are live action. - "Others vs this one" compilations of real clips (Paradis 235M, Niloedits 67M Pts3VjwK43U, GTA only as the punchline). - Real bodycam chase clip with labels (SPY Network 145M ONcSTqJsgos). - Spectacle clip with PC mods (KiLO 91M, GTA_overtime 61M fZNLtQ2yPEo). - Troll clip, same white-box title template (Gtacouzi 78M, BuzzFizz 50M UejUMZrB5ns). - Stream story clip with a face split (Ramee 74M, 93 s). - Meme caption over 16:9 on black (Pink Boi 67M DKUspziWRz0). - Ranking with a 1-5 list that fills in (Leonida Stunts 60M XlK8PkiTz7U, bloxxedout 2.7M zCaOGJPYC68). - Narrated story explainer with word captions and picture inserts (Speedrun Spotlight 53M 3a45TTAltxw). - Game-to-real-life (Scalpo 52M; 3D-printed Roblox noob 2.3M T130dAJjoN0). - Reaction loop (FoltynPlays 6.2M in 9 s 4bwuTJLSWSk; Jynxzi 2.2M in 7 s ld5Tv61_BEo). - Tutorial: 6 of the 13 Roblox/Minecraft Shorts, median 8.6M, best is Dream at 11.5M (eB3jQIhRAvM).
Hooks, captions, length - 29 of 35 show words or a tracker on the first frame (30 if an emoji caption counts), and 10 keep a title band up for the whole Short. - Caption styles: - 1-3 heavy words with a black outline (Kai Cenat UnvqLppp08U, Ramee) - a white rounded title box (Gtacouzi) - a meme line on a black band (Pink Boi) - one static word at the split seam (FoltynPlays: "aura.") - emoji only (Jynxzi) - Median length is 44 s, and 25 of 35 run 60 s or less. A Short over 1 minute with any active Content ID claim is blocked worldwide (YouTube Help). - Only 5 of 35 are visibly cut from a stream. Most were made as Shorts.
Base rule for all three: record clean, separate files and build the layout in the edit. The FX30 records to its own card (face file); OBS records the capture card clean with game, mic and chat on separate tracks (game file). The pipeline syncs them by audio and builds every output from those two files (corner cam, full-screen face, Shorts split, thumbnail cutouts), so the cam corner can change once launch-day footage shows the real HUD.
1. Lit set with a boxed cam bottom-right, full screen on spikes (recommended). - Style: the lit-room box of Flamingo, Scalpo, Ujjwal and Jelly. Bottom-right is chosen for the HUD. In the sample, only Ludwig's box sits there, and Karl's sometimes does. - Physical setup: FX30 at eye level beside the TV so he looks near the lens while watching the game; chest-up 16:9 frame wide enough to crop a box and a 9:16 face; soft key 45 degrees off camera, above head height; one or two colored practicals in the chosen look's colors (for example coral #FF5A7A, teal #25D9C9); headset or mic in shot. Run the FX30 on USB-C or dummy-battery power with a card that holds 10 hours; test a 2-hour record first. - What the pipeline does: 1. Syncs the face file and the game file. 2. Crops the face to a 4:3 box. 3. Overlays the box bottom-right at 22-25% width, with rounded corners and a 3 px brand border. 4. Cuts to the full-screen face for 1-3 s on spikes (voice loudness plus laughter), at most about one a minute. 5. Grows the box to the center for talking stretches. 6. Shrinks or moves the box when a HUD detector finds UI under it. - The same set gives the talking-head videos.
2. Green-screen cutout bottom-right. - Style: the PrestonPlayz, PrestonGamez, MrBeast Gaming, Jynxzi and KreekCraft style. PrestonGamez and sometimes MrBeast sit bottom-right. - Physical setup: a pull-down green screen about 1.5 m behind him, lit evenly. - What it gains: a bigger face (28-32% width, cut at the chest) that hides less game than a same-size box, the face-over-source news layout, and clean cutouts for thumbnails and Shorts. - What it costs: full-screen shots show green unless they get a virtual set, and it needs more light. - What the pipeline does: chroma key with despill and an edge feather, a 2 px outline or soft shadow, and the same spike and HUD rules as setup 1.
3. No cam during play, face only at the start and the peaks (volume lane, launch day). - Style: the no-cam style of theRadBrad (4.4M), Dream (26M) and TGG. The face bookends are an addition, since none of the three shows a face. - How it works: game full screen; face only in a 10-30 s intro hook and on the biggest spikes. Almost nothing to composite, so it is the safest choice for 10-hour sessions while the HUD detector learns GTA 6.
Spec: 1080x1920, under 60 s by default. Radio off removes most music, but score and mission music can still be claimed, so check for claims before posting anything longer.
Layouts. Text stays out of the top 120 px, the bottom 300 px and the right 96 px. - A, split: face on top 40% (chest-up crop from the FX30 file), action-following gameplay crop on the bottom 60%, one caption at the seam. - B, gameplay band: 16:9 gameplay across the middle on a blurred fill, a title band above and word captions below. - C, list: a vertical gameplay crop with a list overlay.
| Format | Length | Layout | How it is cut automatically |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reaction moment | 7-25 s | A | Voice loudness, laughter and game events (WASTED, crash) find the peak; cut starts 3-5 s before it; one seam word or 1-3 word captions (FoltynPlays, Jynxzi). Ramee's 93 s story clip is the long version |
| "Does this work in GTA 6?" myth/fact | 25-55 s | B | Transcript lines such as "if you / you can / did you know" plus the clip that proves them; word captions and picture inserts for nouns (Speedrun Spotlight, Caylus's myth captions) |
| Ranking | 45-60 s | C | Chapter markers from a session testing several things (cars, weapons, hiding spots); a 1-5 list fills in clip by clip (Leonida Stunts) |
| Meme caption | 10-40 s | B on black | Physics, NPC and fail moments found by game-event detection; AI writes one top caption (Pink Boi, Gtacouzi) |
| Optional hero: game-to-real-life | 30-60 s | live action | Not automatic; for example, 3D-print a GTA 6 item (Scalpo, Kaven Adventures) |
| Template | Fires when |
|---|---|
| Corner cam frame (rounded, brand border, bottom-right) | All gameplay; moves or hides when it collides with the HUD or a cutscene |
| Full-screen face cut + zoom punch | Reaction spikes, about one a minute at most |
| Center talk box | Speech longer than 8 s while game action is low |
| Key-word caption (1-3 words, brand color, upper third so it clears subtitles) | Spikes and punchlines only, never full subtitles |
| Stakes counter (money, attempts, day, wanted stars, timer) | Formats with a number at stake, shown from frame 1 |
| Checklist or face-icon tracker | Challenge and ladder formats |
| Numbered myth caption + BUSTED / CONFIRMED stamp | Myth-test videos and Shorts (matches the stamp idea in the look research) |
| Segment title card | Each chapter marker |
| Source card (screenshot, highlighted line, "Source:" tag) with cutout face | News and explainers |
| Location / info card | When a map place is named |
| Name tag / face pin | Other players named on mic |
| Randomizer wheel | "Spin decides" segments |
| Subscribe pill | Once, at 30-60 s |
| Shorts set: title band, seam word, 1-5 list, word-by-word captions, safe-zone guard | Every Short |
